Now, he’s coming back to campus to share what really matters when it comes to personal finance—from budgeting and investing to building long-term wealth.
Bio: Mr. R. Wayne Atwell (1969 B.S. Mineral Economics), is Managing Director of Ascendiant Capital Markets, LLC, a full-service, boutique investment bank providing corporate finance, M&A advisory, equity research, institutional sales, and market making and trading services. Mr. Atwell has worked as a metals and mining analyst for over forty years. His opinions outperformed the industry averages. He was a highly ranked analyst by both II and Greenwich Associates. He worked for such investment banking firms as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and has visited 230 mines and over 300 steel mills. He’s worked on 15 IPOs and helped raise money for 90 natural resource companies, raising $8-10 billion. He started and ran the international mining team at Morgan Stanley.
Atwell graduated from Penn State in 1969 with a degree in mineral economics and earned his M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University in 1974.
