About:

Dr. Tayari is currently working as instructor of Energy Business and Finance and research assistant in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering at Penn State University. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Energy Management and Policy, which is an interdisciplinary major between economics and engineering from The Penn State University. He also has an MBA from the University of Tehran, and a Bachelor’s of science in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University. Dr. Tayari has years of research and work experience in economic assessment of energy projects. He is also experienced in energy economics, policy analysis, mathematical modeling, quantitative simulation, data analysis, and programming.

Research Projects: 
  • Coal market supply estimation and equilibrium model
  • Economic value of new surfactant for Enhanced Oil Recovery via CO2 flooding under different scenarios, including subsurface and economic parameters such as oil price
  • Developing a user interactive detailed cost model for techno-economic assessment of industrial CO2 sequestration in depleted shale gas formations
  • Stochastic and uncertainty analysis of CH4 and CO2 price impact along with subsurface parameters on production and injection timing decision for CO2 sequestration
  • Quantitative modeling of household water heaters as distributed energy storage units for the purpose of decreasing wind power Variability Cost
