About:
Derek Hall is the Program Lead for the Energy Engineering Program and a fixed-term Assistant Professor in the John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. He joined Penn State in 2016 as a fixed-term Assistant Research Professor at the EMS Energy Institute. He earned his B.S. in Energy Engineering and a Ph.D. in Energy and Mineral Engineering from Penn State. Hall's research and teaching focus on sustainable power systems and electrochemical engineering in extreme environments. He has authored or coauthored 14 refereed journal papers, 19 refereed conference proceedings, and 5 EPRI technical reports.
