Entry to Honors College and Information for Honors Students
We encourage eligible EBF students to apply to join the Schreyer Honors College. Under Honors College rules, current Penn State students can apply for "sophomore gate" (April 15 of your freshman year) and "junior gate" (April 15 of your sophomore year). The Honors College is looking for students who have a 3.7 GPA and the recommendation of their program officer. To get the recommendation of the EBF program officer you need an A or A- in EBF 200. If you have any questions, see http://www.shc.psu.edu/future/gateway.cfm, or ask Dr. Seth Blumsack (firstname.lastname@example.org).
For students to be eligible to write an honors thesis with an EBF advisor, they need to 1) have a GPA of at least 3.5 in EBF classes; and 2) have at least an A- in an econometric class (MATH 462 or ECON 306). This applies to both Gateway students and students who entered the honors college in their freshman year.
