Undergraduate Student Opportunities
The Earth and Environmental Systems Institute is seeking EMS undergraduate students interested in enhancing environmental stewardship and outreach in the University community and beyond to become Environmental Student Ambassadors. The Earth and Mineral Sciences Academy for Global Experience, or EMSAGE, was formed in 2009 as a vehicle to foster our students’ global competence and to promote a spirit of integrity, service, and leadership. By comprehensively embracing these principles, students will develop into leaders in their chosen discipline, while possessing the breadth and maturity to extend their knowledge to the improvement of society as a whole.
The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Student Council offers opportunities for all EMS students to come together to assist in making the college a better place to work and study. EMS Student Council exists to provide a link between the students, faculty, and alumni of the College. This is done through social events that promote interaction in an atmosphere not regularly experienced on campus. Additionally, the Student Council attempts to offer a variety of outreach programs for new and prospective students. Many of you may have been attracted to the College while attending EMEX, or maybe you have heard about TOTEMS. Both of these events, and several others, were planned and carried out by the Student Council. Maintaining these events helps to make the college experience as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible.
