November 18, 2006
On November 17, 2006, former Industrial Health and Safety student Stacy Kalgren (2002) returned to Penn State and took the opportunity to meet with the IHS Society and faculty. Stacy gave an overview of her career and allowed those in attendance to interject with questions at any time. Unlike many of the other presentations to date, Stacy's presentation reflected her passion for the increasing environmental challenges faced by safety professionals. As such, Stacy's presentation brought fresh perspective to an already diverse group and gave the IHS Society members even more knowledge to use upon graduation.
Although she began her career immediately upon graduation, within a year Stacy returned to Penn State to pursue a graduate degree in Environmental Pollution Control. Stacy currently works for Progressive Foam Technologies as an Environmental, Health and Safety Leader. The Beach City, OH based Progressive Foam Technologies manufactures the Fullback Thermal Support System, a patented, contoured foam insulation and support system for vinyl siding. Stacy will finish her Masters this spring and plans to focus her efforts toward earning a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
