Research Activities of Jamal Rostami

Areas of Specialty and Research Interests:

Underground construction, mechanical excavation, tunneling, geotechnical investigations, construction bid preparation, development of geotechnical reports (GBR, GIR, GDR, GDSR) construction management, construction claim and evaluation, micro-tunneling, pipe jacking, and trenchless technology, and novel rock fragmentation techniques. Also, mine design and development, rock blasting and fragmentation, rock reinforcement and ground control, mechanized coal Longwall or Room and Pillar mining operation, mining in evaporates, underground space design, computer modeling and simulation of mechanical excavators, rock physical modeling.

In addition, the following subjects are of interest for future research work:
