Teaching Activities of Zuleima Karpyn

Teaching Philosophy:

I strive to conduct and transform research activities into effective teaching, learning, and training tools in which meaningful questions are investigated. My teaching focus is on sub-surface production, rock and fluid properties, and multiphase transport phenomena in porous media. My teaching methods are aimed at motivating and reinforcing positive learning experiences in our students, while promoting analytical thinking. I maintain a strong connection with my students, their progress, and their learning experience.

Courses:

PNG 405: ROCK AND FLUID PROPERTIES - Introduction to petroleum reservoir rock and fluid properties, coring methods, and principles of flow in porous media.

PNG 406: ROCK AND FLUID LABORATORY- Systematic study of oil reservoir rocks and fluids, and their interrelation applied to petroleum engineering.

PNG 475: PETROLEUM ENGINEERING DESIGN - Design and selection of mechanical components used for production from hydrocarbon reservoirs.

PNG 501: STEADY STATE FLOW IN POROUS MEDIA - Formulation and analytical solution of problems of steady-state fluid flow in porous media.
